Main Canada PR Pathways
Express Entry (EE)
Canada’s most popular points-based system. Candidates are ranked via the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). High scorers receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
- FSWP — Federal Skilled Worker Program (overseas skilled professionals)
- CEC — Canadian Experience Class (work experience inside Canada)
- FSTP — Federal Skilled Trades Program (qualified tradespeople)
Tip: Boost CRS with higher language scores (IELTS/CELPIP/PTE Core), work experience, spouse points, or a provincial nomination.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)
Each province nominates candidates as per local labour needs (OINP, BCPNP, AINP, SINP, MPNP, etc.). A nomination typically adds a big CRS boost.
- Tech and healthcare targeted draws are common in several provinces.
- Some streams require job offers; others do not.
Study → Work → PR Pathway
Study in Canada, then work via Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), gain Canadian experience, and apply through CEC/PNP.
Family Sponsorship
PR holders/citizens can sponsor spouses, common-law partners, dependent children, and—through specific programs—parents and grandparents.
Atlantic & Regional Programs
Employer-driven pathways such as the Atlantic Immigration Program and Rural & Northern Immigration pilots target specific communities and in-demand roles.
Basic Eligibility (Typical)

Best points between 18–35 (points fall gradually after).

FAQs — Canada PR
What CRS score do I need?
There’s no fixed “pass” CRS—draw cutoffs change. We’ll help you estimate your current CRS and strategies to raise it.
Is IELTS mandatory?
You need an approved language test (IELTS/CELPIP/PTE Core for English; TEF/TCF for French). Higher scores = better CRS.
Do I need a job offer?
Not always. Many Express Entry and PNP streams do not require a job offer.
Can my spouse add points?
Yes—spouse education, language, and Canadian experience can increase your overall CRS.
How long does PR take?
Timelines vary by stream and case completeness. We guide you on realistic expectations for your profile.
